Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO) was established with the aim of promoting science, technology, and innovation (STI), conducting studies and research in the fields of astronomy and space science since its inception. To achieve this goal in Nepal, it has been providing various opportunities to youth and children who are willing to work in the field of astronomy and space science. NASO has been operating various activities related to
astronomy and space science since its establishment in 2007.
The main objectives of hosting this event in Nepal in 2024, which has been organized in various countries worldwide, are as follows:
1. To encourage international and local students to participate on international-level competitions in astronomy and astrophysics.
2. To motivate students to engage in astronomy, astrophysics, and other scientific disciplines.
3. To provide opportunities for Nepali teachers and scientists to participate in international programs, thus enhancing their capabilities and knowledge.
4. To educate Nepali students, teachers, and scientists about global scientific culture.
5. To promote the recognition of the Nepali scientific community and culture in the global scientific world.
6. To contribute to the promotion of Nepali tourism by enhancing Nepal's identity worldwide through this program.
