Join "Not Just Code", a session on getting started with open source, told through a real first OpenTelemetry contribution.
Starting in open source can feel intimidating, but it doesn't have to be. In this session, our speaker will share their journey into OpenTelemetry and the CNCF ecosystem, explore both code and non-code contribution paths and demonstrate how to create and submit a pull request in a real open source project.
The session will also highlight practical next steps, including LFX Mentorship, Outreachy and Google Summer of Code (GSoC), programs that offer mentorship and visibility to help you make your first contribution with guidance and support.
Whether you're a student, a developer or someone who's always wanted to contribute to open source but didn't know where to start, this session will provide a clear roadmap and actionable first steps.
