The Cities 4 Women project is pleased to present the International Urban Design Competition, featuring 43 innovative design solutions tailored to address the needs of five selected public open spaces in Nepal.
In December 2024, these designs will be showcased in an exhibition tour across five municipalities in Nepal, offering communities the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed solutions.
The International Urban Design Competition and Urban Design Exhibition are integral parts of the Cities 4 Women initiative, aimed at developing inclusive and climate-resilient public open spaces. These spaces are envisioned as multi-functional hubs for social interaction, economic activity, and cultural expression. Through a participatory urban planning approach, the project strengthens the capacity of local governments, with a particular focus on empowering female leaders, to ensure universal access to safe and inclusive green spaces.
